If you wander into our studio at call time, you’ll hear some fierce female voices filling the space. Ask us what makes The Event Nerd team as stellar as it is and one answer couldn’t be more clear: the women who work here. Our badass ladies are involved in every step of making sure our clients are proud of the vision we’ve set for them. Whether it’s producing, designing, re-imagining, or beautifying, there’s no doubt that the women in our Nerd Herd bring our services to the next level. Who runs the (event) world? Girls.
These chicks are tapped into all aspects of the events scene, bringing a unique, global perspective and some seriously extreme expertise to their respective realms of production. From directing ALL events at one of Dallas’ largest music venues to executing experiential genius in Singapore to painting dope murals rich in culture, our female-dominated workforce slays the events scene.
Meet the event queens you’ll have the pleasure of working with, either URL (hello, online broadcasts) or IRL on site. Let’s get nerdy:
MEET CRISTINA AGUIRRE: Chaos Coordinator aka Senior Producer
The One Running Around in a Headset, The One Always Eating Pickles
In our world, it’s okay to leave Damany off of an email. But if you leave Cristina off of an email, things don’t happen. On set, Cristina is the one making sure that everyone gets to where they need to be. She’s so much more than just a stage manager to us though. She literally manages the chaos and keeps things flowing onsite. Cristina is also the Director of Special Events (Hello private events, concerts, and so many more) at The Factory in Deep Ellum (link), one of the most reputable venues in Dallas. Cristina has been a part of The Event Nerd for so long that we’ve stopped counting, always there to make things happen.
MEET MICHELLE DEKKERS: Beautification Boss aka Graphic Designer
The One Beautifying Your Graphics, The One with the Paint on Her Pants
Michelle transforms your event from an average Joe to the belle of the ball. Throughout the event process, she’s bringing our cool visions to life via visuals with an artistic touch. Michelle also fires graphics during URL events as a part of our broadcast team. For DFW locals, you may have seen some of Michelle’s work around town with pieces on display in galleries and Deep Ellum walls alike.
When Michelle isn’t working with The Event Nerd, she is a freelancer dishing out designs for everything from corporate law entities to your neighborhood brewery. She also happens to be married to our audio extraordinaire Denver Graves. Power couple much?
MEET CHELSEY TAYLOR: Client Hero aka Account Director
The One Who Will Calm Your Lead Up Jitters, The One Dialing in From Idaho
Chelsey is our guiding light for all things client services, providing you with an unmatched level of attention to detail. When concerns or questions emerge, she is there to sort them out. Chelsey is in the driver’s seat making sure that our projects are going according to plan with her eye on the deadline. Chelsey is a veteran in the industry having run events (literally) all over the world.
MEET SHELBY GYGER: Video Goddess aka Lead Video Engineer
The One Being a Broadcast Boss, The One with the *insert fun color* Hair
Despite being one of the newer members of our team, this woman fit into our Nerd Herd right away. Shelby is responsible for everything that goes to screen during our URL events. She is more like the wizard behind the curtain with sick video engineering skills that make our virtual productions feel like true TV broadcasts. She also works for the TV network Bally Sports where she crushes the art of broadcast as a video engineer.
MEET OLIVIA GERNER: Dot-Connector aka Administrative Coordinator
The One with The Calendar App Always Up, The One Keeping the Chaos at Bay
Olivia is our timekeeper, smoothing out our scheduling and making sure we get from point A to point B. On show day, she’s the one running around as our hospitality coordinator making sure that everyone has what they need. While newer to the events industry, she’s been busy getting her feet wet, always ready to step in where needed. When she doesn’t have all hands on deck with The Event Nerd, she’s developing social-emotional learning school curriculums, penning up poetry, or hunting for thrift shop gems.
While these women are core to The Event Nerd team, it doesn’t stop there. We’re constantly on a mission to rope in as many badass females in the events industry as possible because we recognize the importance and power of the female presence when it comes to producing the best events possible. You haven’t seen productive until you’ve seen these women at work.
Ready to press go and bring your event to life with the help of these incredible ladies? Say whaddup and send your vision to holla@theeventnerd.com.
