Challenges
Deep Ellum is a community best known for its culture, art, and the vibrant community of creative souls who call it the place where they work, live, and play. For years, advocates pushed for a public green space that could be enjoyed by all and serve as a meeting place, recreational space, and community gathering location. We worked with the Deep Ellum Foundation to create a month-long pop-up park, showcasing the experience available to residents and lovers of Deep Ellum once the proposed park opens.
We served as primary producer and manager of events and designed and produced a capstone series of events, oversaw key engagements, and created a model for activation that the city of Dallas and residents of Deep Ellum celebrated for its ingenuity. We took into account the needs of the foundation, the city, business owners, and residents to ensure we were creating a series of events that would resonate with everyone and be a destination for the city at large.
Execution
We created a “year in a month” series of events and celebrated every possible holiday you have in a year in the span of 30 days, inclusive of uniquely themed activations for each of the major holidays. In addition, we created a series of individual activations to occupy every day of the month and give people a new way to enjoy their neighborhood. It all culminated in a NYE celebration with multiple headliners right in the middle of Deep Ellum. We created an atmosphere that drove engagement, created opportunities for people to connect with each other, and showcased the vibrancy of a community beloved by many.
