What started as a low-key upgrade for Drata’s event lineup quickly transformed into an epic journey dubbed “the best show ever.” Drataverse was about more than just bringing people together—it was about making a statement. With just eight wild months to pull it off, we worked with our network of creative partners to amplify Drata’s mission to the max. The goal? Not just another corporate meet-up, but a mind-blowing experience that would connect industry leaders and customers like never before, leaving them buzzing long after the lights went down.

Execution

We had one shot to make this legendary, and the venue—a ferry terminal with all the charm of a warehouse—wasn’t exactly inspiring. But we saw it as a blank canvas and transformed that empty shell into a fully immersive, cutting-edge event space that looked like it came straight out of a movie. Custom lighting, larger-than-life visuals, and production elements created a space so captivating that attendees forgot where they were and fully entered The Drataverse.

A cornerstone of the experience was a boutique trade show designed to give brands an unprecedented opportunity to connect directly with attendees. This wasn’t your typical trade show floor—it was a curated space where vendors could engage in meaningful, face-to-face conversations with an audience ready to explore cutting-edge solutions. The trade show wasn’t just a side feature; it was integral to the event’s success, fostering connections and creating tangible value for everyone involved.

But no epic event comes without its hurdles. The open space threatened to swallow up the energy of the crowd, and 20 minutes into the keynote—BAM—a pier-wide power outage wiped out the lights, sound, and visuals. Yet, we were ready. Armed with contingency plans, our team quickly restored power, flipping what could have been a disaster into a “did that just happen?” moment that only added to the legend of Drataverse.
