Capital One @ SXSW

Challenges

SXSW is an experience and tech lover’s playground and brands need to create engaging moments to stand above the rest. Everyone wants to be talked about for years to come, and we were a part of creating those moments for Capital One. With a super sponsorship and desire to create something amazing that made this group of tech and music enthusiasts take note, we set out to showcase the company’s thought leadership. The Event Nerd came on board as the technical producers and technical designers of this experience from 2016-2019.

Execution

Held at the historic Antone’s in downtown Austin, each day was full of engaging educational sessions related to a variety of digital, financial, and technological topics. Each night, we took over the music venue for one-of-a-kind performances from some of the hottest names in music. For one week, we converted this icon of music into a haven for music lovers and tech enthusiasts with a range of unique brand engagements. I addition, we designed a “pixel array” of Elation ACL 360 Bars. Using an artnet network we were able to send video files from Resolume to the stage downstairs to drive a fully pixel mapped lighting rig which was compatible with all major lighting consoles.

Execution

We make annual events something attendees want to be part of year after year. We design the experience and space to keep people engaged through all their senses.
